I need a Senior Sun UNIX ADMIN for a large client in middle Phoenix/North
Tempe.

High Hourly rate, need this person ASAP.

Position will last 3 months, might go longer but probably not.

Person must have:
UltraSparc 3
SUN
Solaris
Veritas
Sun online disk suite
Jumpstart
Network Appliances

Any Oracle database exp. is a plus.

Formal Job Description
Configure, install, and maintain a heterogeneous array of development, test,
and production UNIX systems in a TCP/IP based network environment, with
specific focus on Sun platforms and supporting applications. - Coordinate
and collaborate with 24x7 Phoenix Operations personnel on UNIX systems
monitoring, management, backup, and troubleshooting procedures. - Position
requires 24x7 on-call responsibilities. - Enforce compliance with Enterprise
and industry established security and business continuity guidelines. -
Coordinate and collaborate with suppliers, consultants, other IT teams, and
clients on sustaining and project related tasks. - Analyze, recommend, and
implement system architecture solutions that focus on Enterprise established
business objectives and strategies. - Analyze performance and capacity
attributes of system configurations, looking for opportunities to
consolidate applications and utilize resources more efficiently. - Design,
code, test, support and debug system level software for UNIX, PERL, C++,
Database, Web, and JavaScript applications.
Required Skills:
- B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or
Math with at least 5+ years experience in the UNIX system administration and
networking field.
- Specific knowledge of Sun OS (Solaris) and Veritas Foundation Suite (File
System, Volume Manager, NetBackup and Clustering Server) application is
required. - Working knowledge of Network Appliance Network Attached Storage
(NAS). - Proficient in UNIX administration procedures and TCP/IP based
networks is required. - Experience with NIS, NFS, DNS, SSH, and Internet
Standards based protocols (SNMP, SMTP, HTTP, LDAP) is required. - Strong SUN
hardware experience - Individual must possess strong project management
skills and be able to work with various technical teams in order to complete
task deliverables in a timely manner. - Individual must have strong
written/oral English communication skills and possess effective, diplomatic
interpersonal skills.
