Doing either way (incremental updating or just jumping straight to the latest)
is going to see some changes. RH7.2 uses Apache 1.3, RH9/Fedora use Apache 2.x.
Also the jump in compiler from 2.9.6 to 3.2 or 3.3 will require any
non-standard app (to the distro) to be recompiled to get it to work (e.g. php or
mysql if he's not using the versions that came with the distro).
If those are the only two big things, then jumping straight to Fedora would
probably be easiest. Just back up critical things like the X config, php.ini,
my.cnf (for mysql), etc...
