Author: Kevin Date: Subject: multisync stops syncing
Any Multisync users here?
It's terrific open source software that I use for synchronizing my
SonyEricsson T610 phone with my Ximian Evolution calendar and contacts.
I do this via Infrared, but bluetooth is also an option. I rely on this
Evo-Multisync-T610 combination heavily for my daily work and it has
worked very well for over a year now (with a T68i prior to the T610).
Unfortunately, I have one nagging problem that I cannot solve. Every
few weeks it seems like multisync stops talking to the phone and just
continually says "Searching for client". If I reboot the phone I can
usually get it to sync again, but the phone remains stuck in the
synchronizing cycle even after Multisync says it's finished. After
that, they never agree on appointments or contacts again. Weird.
The only workaround I have found so far, is it flush all contacts and
appointments from the phone, delete the Synchronization Pair in
Multisync, create a new pairing, then re-sync which pushes everything
back down to the phone. Unfortunately, I lose all the voice-dialing
tags I had assigned to the contacts on the phone so I have to re-record
them all when I go through this recovery exercise. It's getting old...
Anybody here have a clue or a similar experience???
My Config:
Kernel-2.4.20 (i know it needs to be updated)
Multisync-0.80gnome1
