To put it succinctly the constitution provides me freedom not safety.=20
For example, I think the safest place to live would have been communist
Russia. They had gold plated fixtures in their subway. Can you imagine
such a thing in New York. Talk about safe. Oppressive for certain, but
safe. In that you know the "rules" you are good to go. You may not be
happy, you may be repressed, but you don't worry much about being
mugged.
