Before you log into X, KDE, Gnome, whatever, while looking at the X
login screen, press CTRL-ALT-F[1-6] until you get a console login. Then
cd to your tmp directory and delete everything.=20
You might also want to go into the .kde dir in your home directory and
look for the=20
socket-"hostname" and tmp-"hostname"
and delete those as well. They are links to your tmp folders in the tmp
directory. That will force KDE to recreate its tmp directories.
