KDE won't work

Well,
This is fun. Kde won't work. When X starts up everything works fine but w=
hen it starts to load KDE it tells me:

     The following instalation problem was=20
     detected while trying to start KDE:
          No write access to=20
          /home/knoppix/.ICEauthority

So I sat there scratching my head. What in the world do you do in this ca=
se? Well this a dandy thing to have happened. So I tried some other progr=
am managers. Everything else runs but 'K' apps. When I try to run 'K' app=
s I get the following error:

     kdeinit: aborting. No write access to=20
     /home/knoppix/.ICEauthority=20
     Error: KUniqueApplication: Can't setup
     DCOP communication.

You know, I look at this and know how to change write access. But what ab=
out this 'DCOP' thing>
