mrtg snmp and Debian

Kevin is right. SNMPv3 uses "users" and if you don't have a user (with
your same username I think) setup, then it won't authenticate. However,
v1 and v2c use community/host (with password if desired) based
authentication exclusively and are still common among the hardware
devices.=20
I recently ran in to this same problem when setting up my stuff but
don't worry, MRTG uses v2c by default it seems so it still works.
If you need to walk the tree,=20
snmpwalk -v2c -c public localhost
will be fine.
