OT: Better to test cpu or mobo first?

Subject: OT: Better to test cpu or mobo first?
Just to check on a long shot. Have you changed the drive configuration
since it last worked? If you put an IDE cable on backwards the machine
will behave as you describe. But short of that I would support the
theory that it is probably the motherboard.
