I got a 'whitebox' computer at:

For around that range. Note that this was based on a new mobo and I
didn't find any distribution that supported the on board sound, video
and ethernet adaptor 'out of the box.' The computer did come with a CD
with source for linux drivers, though, and I was able to get the box up
in text mode and build the modules.
