Subject: Installing Mandrake 9.1 on Dell Inspiron 2600
After looking through I don't know how many websites trying to figure
out why I could not get Mandrake 9.1 to install properly on my Dell
Inspiron 2600 laptop, I finally found a website with the information I
was looking for.

It turns out that the FlashBIOS I was using (A09) was not compatible
with the kernel, and I had to downgrade to A08. This caused Mandrake to
recognize the video card properly, and allowed me to be able to run X.

In other news, does anyone know of a free driver for the PCTEL 2304 WT
V.92 MDC Modem? I downloaded the free one from the Conexant website,
but it limits me to 14.4 Data only (which kind of suck if you know what
I mean). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Then again, I could always go out and buy a PCMCIA modem for this thing
:)
