Try running `gconftool-2 -t string -s
/desktop/gnome/applications/browser/exec "mozilla"`. This will set the
default browser for gnome (2.4) to mozilla. You might also do
`gconftool-2 -t bool -s /desktop/gnome/applications/browser/nremote 1`
and `gconftool-2 -t bool -s
/desktop/gnome/applications/browser/needs_term 1` if you want to mirror
my settings.
