M$
Mozilla can be switched back and fourth from M$ to *nix as you can
manually configure directories. I've done this a number of times.
Run Mozilla on the M$ box. Install as-is and let it do what it wants.
Let the user get used to it for a few months.
Later when you want to switch to Linux, you can copy the whole mozilla
user directory over to the Linux box.
On the Linux box, throw the user's directory (something like
uye7djhc.slt) into /home/<user>/.mozilla/default/uye7djhc.slt
Even though you have done this, configurations have been saved, and
Mozilla will want to put files into '/home/<user>/C:\My
Documents\blah\blah\blah\wkh7djct.slt\...'. That is, a directory with
that long nasty name with C: and whacks and spaces will appear in the
user's home. You have to find all the configs in Mozilla and manually
switch them to the proper directory name.
You'll probably have to visit the user's box two or three times, but
once the pointers are in the right place it works exactly as it did on
the M$ box.
