on recommending linux programs;
i would recommend the gimp to anyone who already knew photoshop. and i
think it is as ,if not more, powerful than photoshop. if someone has
not used photoshop, they would need to take a gimp class (and where
would they do that ?! rhetorical question)
gtoaster: after the initial hour or so of floundering around i found
this as easy as nero for burning cd's ; and of course, free is good.
question:
in re. to gtoaster, i don't want to have to keep putting in my password
as root to run this program. i knew how to chmod to 777 in gnome but now
i'm using kde. forgot how to get to the file in terminal window. when i
do a /locate/ i find lots of gtoaster files. which one do i chmod on?
or the easier way would be; can i go back to a gnome desktop, make the
change and then it will still apply? hmmm may have answered my own
question there, will try that next. just was hoping to get to use the
chmod command ;-)
betty i.
