here's some additional info from my unit in messages.

leopard kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:02.3-3, assigned address 2
leopard kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0xd64/0x1021) is not claimed by
any active driver.
leopard /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product d64/1021/100
