Hey all,
I'm running the Gentoo livecd in a box I'm building to copy data from
one HD to another. However, after a short while running, commands
"disappear" and I get driveerror messages. This is a brand new, 3 day
old DVD-ROM drive that's been doing this since its very first boot. The
mobo's never given me any IO trouble before so I'm doubting that's it.
I'm pretty sure the DVD-ROM drive's bad, I even burned a new LiveCD on a
different burner with a disc from a different spindle than the first
LiveCD and same problem. Below is all the remotely relevant `dmesg`
info. I'd appreciate a second opinion from the group please.
