Anyone out there willing to guide me through getting my new Sony CD
Burner running under RedHat 9.0? I'm thinking several days of
ping-ponging questions back and forth off-list. This worked great when
I was challenged by USB ports. I ask questions, and when your time
allows, you send answers or alternatives, and eventually it all works.
It should be low-impact on you. You people who know your /dev from your
/mnt.

When I'm done I would be happy to post my experience in the form of a
how-to for newbies like me. I take good notes.

"Have you tried Google?" Yes, and I have 18 different how-to's from 1998
forward, usually with caveats like 'I don't know if this will work for
you but it worked for me on a Samsung...'"

I don't want to run 18 experiments, I want to do it right. I want to
stay on Linux.

It's a Sony CRX225A-U. Hardware is installed properly. RedHat9
(current with all patches). I am not a complete idiot. :-) You can
give me clues instead of answers, if that's more fun for you. Thanks --
