ext2 fsck server will not boot

We had a server that was shutdown hard and now I get a message at every
boot

"unnattached inode
fsck 2677238
unexpected inconsistency run fsck manually ie without the -a or -p /

the drive is /dev/sda1

I just ran fsck /dev/sda1 although now I am getting a message about
unnachted inode 2677238 and the system is promting me to connect to
/lost+found and I can select yes or no I have not done this yet any
suggestions what would you recommend?
