Craig, I understand the hardware side of things (aspiring audio
engineer, ironically enough) and if I had recorded the file, then things
would have been done differently but needless to say, I didn't. More
accurately, this file was ripped from a cd, obviously by analog input
listening to its quality, that is very far away, or perhaps next door, I
don't know.
Kurt, I just want the song to be at about the same volume as the rest of
my playlist and the volume normalizing plugins for XMMS I've tried don't
do exactly what I want done, that is they level a song's volume but not
to the average level of the playlist which is bad anyways because loud
songs would be quiet and so on and so forth.
Again, thank you everyone. It looks like I'll be playing with sox for
now. Especially because I need to search for Satanic messages :-P.
