some mail clients - I seem to remember Netscape, don't automatically
wrap the incoming emails so you have to laterally scroll - it's way too
much bother when you are using an MUA that doesn't handle it.
Virtually all MUA's have the option to insert a <CR> at a specific line
length which pretty much settles things
