Subject: DLT Tape can not Restore
Here is what I tried I can dd the tape, write to it, but I can not
confirm the data is on the tape. I am not sure if am not waiting long
enough to check or what.

~# !491
dd if=3D/dev/zero of=3D/dev/st0 count=3D1 bs=3D32768
1+0 records in
1+0 records out
debian:~# !494
tar -cf /dev/nst0 /deleteme/
tar: Removing leading `/' from member names
catapult:~# !497
tar -tf /dev/nst0
debian:~# tar -tf /dev/nst0
tar: /dev/nst0: Cannot read: Input/output error
tar: At beginning of tape, quitting now
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
