System Security Engineer

a System Security Engineer.



Job Description: Plays a key role in the development, implementation, and
configuration of systems and monitoring tools. Proactively monitors systems
integrity to discover, diagnose, troubleshoot, facilitate repair, and report
on security and OS related issues. May provide consultation and support on
complex projects and is considered to be a top-level contributor/specialist.



Job Requirements:

*    Extensive understanding and experience with UNIX and Linux
operating systems.
*    Ability to recompile, apply patches, and streamline Linux
kernels, Apache Web Servers, and MySQL.
*    Stays abreast of new security technologies and OS related
security vulnerabilities.
*    Works collectively with the entire operations team to monitor
stability and performance to ensure 24x7 operations.
*    Working experience in dealing with intrusion attempts and system
compromises.

Following Skills a plus:

*    RedHat platforms and Kickstart support preferred.
*    Build RPMs from source.
*    Shells Scripting.
*    C++, Java, and PERL programming knowledge.
*    MySQL Replication knowledge and experience.
*    System and Network Design experience.
*    Working experience with 50+ host systems in a corporate
environment.
