Well, I play MP3s using XMMS of a PPC90, if that's of any help. Even at
90Mhz, it seems to handle everything pretty well, that is no skipping
even during times of "heavy" (moving the XMMS window, clicking something
on it, etc) usage. FYI, this machine does nothing more than play MP3s,
and my growing collection of OGGs and just displays XMMS via SSH X
forwarding. Yes, I do realise that this is a little skewed as well, PPC
vs X86 but that's my bit to contribute.
In case anyone's interested, this is the Mac I brought to last June's
(2002) installfest to get help with putting Linux on it. Admittedly, I
didn't that day but I did get a copy of YDL which made it a lot easier
than MkLinux.

Howdy. I have 3 mostly software questions.

0. What is the general impression of loadlin? From what I have read on=20
google it seems to be a good program, but I wanted to make sure that=20
this is the best option for loading linux using the windows bootloader.=20
And no lilo and grub are not an option, I tried.

1. Does the citrix client under linux suck? If so how much? (no, vnc,=20
and ssh are not options)

2. What are the sys reqs of playing org vorbis? Should I bother figuring=20
out how to get sound working on a pentium 100, or is that just too slow=20
play org vorbis at ~192 Kb/sec? I know that under windows on the same=20
machine that mp3's will play just fine, but org vorbis just sucks.
