Does anyone have an idea how I could arrange my Smoothwall router, or
even just plain, generic linux to automatically, after 5 minutes or so,
automatically switch its settings over to those of a dial-up connection
and proceed to dial-up.
I'd google for it now but "Cox is experiencing an outage in [my] area".
Boy have I taken broadband for granted. Actually, by the time this gets
sent, I'll have the connection again (does cox only allow cox members to
its smtp? I'm pretty sure.) but still, I vaguely remember some months
back something about cable modems and dial-up but again, dial-up.
Ah, how I don't miss the days of my 26.4kbps connection, especially as I
have to share it amongst 15 computers now.
Back to the point, anyone have an idea how I could have my router
automatically, after 5 minutes of trying to get a conn with Cox, switch
over to a modem connection? I've configured both independently, at
different times, so I know all the hardware is/will work.
Thanks
