redhat & red-carpet configs not displaying

Recently I downloaded red-carpet and joined the redhat 8.0 channel. Now
I can't get anything to display properly using either redhat-config-*
modules or the red-carpet one. I do get the display, but no text and
only the 'x' icon for cancelling.

Open Office is ok and the xterm are all ok. Mozilla works (except the
toolbar is missing all my personel folder stuff).

Can someone provide some guidance on what may be wrong and how to fix it
short of re-install?
