Thank you.

PermitRootLogin is set to yes.

Using your commands, it looks as though all starts correctly:

/etc/init.d/sshd stop
Stopping sshd:                [OK]
[root@localhost /root] sshd -d -p 2200
debug1: Seeding random number generator
debug1: sshd version OpenSSH_2.5.2.p2
debug1: load_private_key_autodetect: type 0 RSA1
debug1: read SSH2 private key done: name rsa w/o comment success 1
debug1: load_private_key_autodetect: type 1 RSA
debug1: read SSH2 private key done: name dsa w/o comment success 1
debug1: load_private_key_autodetect: type 2 DSA
debug1: Bind to port 2200 on 192.168.0.94.
Server listening on 192.168.0.94 port 2200.


[When I attempted to connect, this was generated.]

debug1: Server will not fork when running in debugging mode.
[root@localhost /root]

BTW, 192.168.0.94 is the right address.

What to make of this?
