Recomendations on Reliable Wireless Network Hardware

Looking for a reliable "wireless network" hardware solution (manufacturer
and model).

The client is a 400 mHz Celeron (32 meg ram) running Linux (RH 8.0 probably)
and will be connecting to the server via VNC.

The Server is a 2.4 gHz Win XP-Pro (not my network - granddaughters). A USB
solution here would be nice as the box is under warranty and someone might
get upset if I open the box.

I have been reading "user opinions" on some of the hardware out there and
much of it was not complimentary. I.e.: certain models "not working" with
Win XP.

Anyone have experience (good or bad) worth mentioning.
