Derek its been awhile since I had World governments but I believe what
you describe is actually socialism. Communism is marked by the fact that
collective ownership is enforced by the state. I seem to remember
reading several Italian and German philosophers remark on how a true
socialist state couldn't be met without enforcement from the state.
Which as I remember created communism. Some *could* argue that open
source is a socialistic system (I would disagree but can understand the
argument). No one with a clear understanding could argue that open
source is communism.
