Not sure you need to place someone's name in the subject line

Short answer, I don't know. Ask someone who knows how to use kppp.

I'm a Debian/OpenBSD fan and do not have these type of problems :-)

In Debian, I would just use pppconfig; it always worked for me.
In fact, on my system, it is as easy as editing the file "/etc/ppp/peers/<connection name>"
But, I do not suppose your system has that file. I literally do not know where/what
yours would be on a Redhat/Mandrake system.

Think of symbolic links as "shortcuts". Most every
windows user can relate to a shortcut, there are thousands
and thousands of them on their system.
