external cd drive

I'm interesting in purchasing an external cd-driver, and toying with
firewire versus usb. I'd like to get a cd-burner, though costs dictate
what interface i get and what kind I get.

Does anybody here have any experience with these types of devices, and
can recommend ones to get that will work under linux?
