Maybe I'm just nerdy, but there's something really relaxing about
working with a language like LISP coming from a procedural (sorry, "OO"
:) ) language like Java or C++.

I do use emacs from the command line, and most of the time in gui, but
I'm
still doing consulting on a piecemeal basis. Please elaborate on how
emacs
will propel me into the wondrous land of the employed?
