Subject: Cost for Cox Business connection?
Poor service and underhanded business practices.
For the cable modem, most times it worked well. Other times I would be
downloading something (like a Linux ISO) and the connection would drop
for a few minutes. Or the DNS would go out for a few hours.
As to the underhanded business practices: I signed up for Digital cable.
The sales rep promised me I had a 30-day money back guarantee. After 28
days, I turned in both DTV boxes because I couldn't see paying the
additional for just mainly watching TechTV. When I got the bill, they
charged me for 2 months of DTV service. The bill should have reflected
only 1 month of Cox Classic because that is what I had prior to the DTV.
We went round and round with the customer service representatives
(CSRs). We told them that we were willing to pay the bill except for the
disputed portion. The CSR said that she would turn it over to her
supervisor and that s/he would get back with me in 10 days. Later that
afternoon a technician disconnected our apartment from cable. When I
called back, they said that my account had been closed and that in order
to get my cable & cable modem turned back on I would need to pay the
disputed amount plus $120 in security deposits. I told them that I would
never deal with their company again. She said "fine" and hung up.
Those are just 2 of the reasons why I dislike Cox so much.
Mark
