Subject: OT: laptop repair
One other detail: Sony wanted $900++ to repair the drowned unit. Their
"techs" only work at a board level. I wouldn't be surprised if many (most?) 
repair shops approach notebook repairs at the same level of granularity.
     If you *do* find one that you like, please let us know!
