If you can see it or listen to it, you can save it :).

Figuring out how and getting decent quality can be quite the quest, though.

Look at docs for mplayer and vlc. I'm certain at least vlc can convert to
vcd. Presumably there's a way to convert only the audio track.

What I need is a way to rip the subtitles tracks such that I can correct
them or translate them and then use them again.
