Hi George,

Yes. I think many companies run that way. Of course, it is critical that
the IT professionals in such companies would authorize installation of
additional software if it is necessary for the employee to do his or her
job, such as a screen reading application for blind employees. It is also
possible to make it essentially impossible for unauthorized people to
install software by implementing proper security!
