Is it non-powered A-B mechanical switch box that you have to turn the dial selector from PC-A to PC-B or is it a A/C powered push-button switch box that might allow for polling and daisy chaining another KVM? If I had to guess, you probable have the cheaper $20 to $50 KVM switch boxes that are mechanical. Also, does the computer screen change positions when you switch between PCs? The problem sounds similar to a problem I had that caused me to replace a computer after the motherboard was fried from switching back and forth and I had to buy the better quality electrical switch box KVM from Belkin.

I have yet to see a mechanical switchbox that didn't suck
No power supply needed typically on the Belkin units, the Linksys
typically come with a brick on a leash
I wouldn't recommend a daisy chain - even if it did work. They make 8
port and even tcp/ip switches.
