Well, I'm about half way in the middle on this topic. I have a linksys =
router that I have used for a few years now with my cox internet. =20

But a few months ago, I undertook a Linux project just to learn some =
stuff. I used Clark Connect =
(http://www.clarkconnect.org/info/index.html) to set up my webserver and =
firewall. It was just what I needed. It set up fast and worked the =
first time. Later, I was able to go back and fine tune the config files =
which really helped me understand how things worked. Its running on a =
mini-itx board (http://www.mini-itx.com) which helps keep the power, =
heat, and noise at a low level.

But stuff happens. So I always keep the old linksys router at hand in =
case the the hard drive dies so I'm not stuck without the internet while =
I trouble shoot a dead box. =20

What is the best way to use an old Slackware box and 5-port switch to
share a cox cable connection with 4 other computers, running windoze =
and
linux? Cox Cable has no Linux support, as most of you already know.
