If you want a much more efficient way of doing this use mpg321.
mpg321 -v -w fileyouwant.wav filetoconvert.mp3
You can use man mpg321 to get more options information... As you can do
lots of things to do batch processing of multiple directories.
Note: You should really be using .ogg format. :) You can do the same
with ogg's with ogg123. =20
Note2: mpg123 also works but mpg321 is free.
