Subject: Seeking good, inexpensive DSL ISP
I've never had any dealings with any of the ISP's in question below, but it
seems people want a decent connection, good support, and low price. It's
hard to find that, no matter who the ISP is. Everyone's definition of the
above is different. If you are using linux, support is almost always out of
the question, unless you get a tech who knows a little something and is
willing to take the time help you out.
Anyways..you should also check out ViaWest (disclaimer: I work for them, so
I'm probably biased ;) ). I think DSL is running 24.95 a month w/ 3 emails
(With Brightmail - one of the best spam filters out there) and some web
space. Static ip is standard. No filters to stop your traffic. No
transparent proxy to screw things up. There are usually special offers that
wave setup fees etc, just check the website - http://www.viawest.net/ for
the details.
