Subject: Momorex CD-ReWritable Drive
Hi Bryce
Thanks for the info on the possibility that it should work.

The CD-RW drive is recognized by SuSE 8.0 as:
Device: Memorex 48MAXX 1248AJ
Device name: /dev/hdc
Added: append=" hdc=ide-scsi" to lilo.conf
Need to add something to /etc/fstab to go along with:
/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
since this is my original CD-ROM which is /dev/hdd.
Should it look something like this:
/dev/cdrw /media/cdrw auto rw,noauto,user,exec 0 0
With /dev/cdrw -> /dev/hdc

When I run:
# insmod ide-scsi
Using /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/drivers/scsi/ide-scsi.o
# cdrecord --scanbus
Cdrecord 1.11a28 (i686-suse-linux) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 Jörg Schilling
Linux sg driver version: 3.1.22
Using libscg version 'schily-0.6'
scsibus0:
        0,0,0 0) 'Memorex ' '48MAXX 1248AJ ' 'VWS4' Removable CD-ROM

Thanks again
