Hi, All-
I attempted this morning to convert a resume in Star Office format to
Adobe Acrobat, and it became an adventure. This is what happened;
Print to File in Star Office 6.0 gave me the option of generating a file
in either Postscript or PDF format. Selecting the PDF option generated a
file with a PDF extension-- in PS format. Not the desired outcome...
Undaunted, I converted the Postscript version to PDF using ps2pdf. This
was a qualified success. Qualified in that although the result was an
Acrobat document, the spaces between words were somehow deleted, making
the result look less like a resume and more like some demented ransom note.
I finally went to Adobe's website and used the tryout version of their
web based file conversion service, which converted the PS file to
Acrobat format without error.
How can I get the Star Office print to file option to work for PDF? And
why did ps2pdf not function as it should? How can I fix?
