Subject: Schools for Installfest K12LTSP
Charlie,

Thanks for the link. There are a handful of educational programs for Linux,
but certainly not enough for a school to equip a lab or use Linux computers
seriously for educational purposes.

In my opinion, it would be a disservice to an elementary/middle school to
convince them to switch to Linux as an os when there are so few native
educational programs available. There are some web based educational
programs to supplement what is missing, but I don't know if one could
assemble enough programs to compete with what is available in the
Mac/Windows world.

Has anyone compiled a list of popular educational software titles and
equivalent Linux based programs? Perhaps I am way off the mark here.

Does anyone know if there are Linux based programs for teachers (grade
books, lesson planners, career ladders, etc.) available?
