May I ask why you didn't look in the options menu? There is an option
"Customize Emacs" with sub-option like "Browse Customization Groups". I
disabled the toolbar that way, although I left the menu bar (so Emacs
appears like it did in version 20).
Perhaps this method was too obvious. :-)
I'm running RH 7.2, but I've been updating various applications with the
versions from RH 7.3. Doing this has been pretty trivial, since RH didn't
make any significant, incompatible changes (if they did, they'd probably
have labeled it RH 8.0).
