I have a VisionTek Xtasy Everything Personal Cinema 5564:
Basically a GeForce 2 MX400-based dual-head video card with a A/V
Breakout box that has a TV Tuner (as well as s-video, composite, and
stereo audio) based on a (supposedly, I haven't done any research on
this) industry standard Phillips chip. It works, and works well, but
I'd be interested in seeing if Linux improves my maximum capture
resolution.
Does anyone know of a tv viewing/capture program out there?

Welll... I only use my tv card just to watch the programs. I use a
simple
TV viewer program called TVSet. I also have a another program that
displays the Closed Caption text as it comes out from the channel I'm
watching in a terminal window. Doing all this on my Black Thunder box
running Gentoo dist system and the 2.4.18 kernel that I just
installed
this past weekend.
Just wondering but what tv card you got? Me I got a Hauppauge TV card
"WinTV" I belive it's called.
