Ahhhh...Dennis, our voice of logic and reason.
1. I dont know what other LUGs do in the event of lost data. I doubt that
we have much legal liability since the public is bringing in their computers
knowing that we will be modifying the hard drive. Suggestions?
2. We should at least give out a PLUG business card with the web address on
it to everyone who shows up. The web site is one of our best assets. As far
as receiving a bunch of newbies, we know that the mail list will handle that
gracefully, and there is an undercurrent about newbie classes that is
bubbling to the surface.
3. With a little luck, we can use the Install Fest as an opportunity to
educate those people. I would not mind if we scheduled a brief talk about
Linux, Open Source software, and PLUG hourly. Any other education we could
provide would be an added benefit.
