FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCAL USERS GROUP OFFERS FREE LINUX INSTALLATION HELP

On Saturday, June 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Phoenix Linux Users
Group (PLUG) will hold a Linux InstallFest in the Turquoise Room at
Scottsdale Community College, 9000 E. Chaparral Rd., Scottsdale, AZ. This is
an opportunity for computers users to receive expert help in installing
Linux, a freely available operating system, on their personal computer.

Linux and other free software, such as tools from the GNU project, are
available at no charge through the Internet or as an inexpensive
ditribution at most local computer stores. Businesses and home users
alike are turning to free software which can be copied, modified, or
examined without fear, and which is considered by computer experts to be
more robust and secure than proprietary systems.

Computer users are invited to bring their personal computers to the event
and receive help from PLUG members in installing Linux. Your current
operating system can remain as an alternative, or we can replace it
entirely. There is no charge for this service. Club members will available
to answer questions about Linux, Open Source software, and the Phoenix
Linux User Group as well. The event is open to the public.

For more information about the InstallFest please contact <put contact info
here - I asked Kimi if she could set up a temporary email address for this
- Jim Farli>
