Linux Mandrake 8.1 problems

The applicable system specs here are:
Athlon XP 1600+
GeForce 3 Ti200

It was a graphical installation, but it didn't walk me through configuring
my monitor and video card, etc. Before the screen starts flashing, there's
the nice little star Mandrake logo and below it'll say configuring 'this",
Loading HardDrake, etc, all in a nice graphical way, then it does the
flashing thing.

I tried just typing in startx, and it said that it could not load the
NVdriver kernel modules.
