Better read the Red Hat readme on kde.org It specifically states Red Hat
refuses to support KDE officially. Red Hat 7.2 is not rawhide either and I
avoid beta software whenever possible. Too many people on this and other
lists have had problems with KDE 3.0 and Red Hat anything.

That is erroneous - they do not support KDE 3.0 on RedHat 7.2 - rpm's
are available on rawhide - the user is assumed to know how to handle
experimental things on rawhide if he chooses to implement.
KDE 3.0 is part and parcel of skipjack beta - new officially supported
version of RedHat in just a few weeks.
