Distributed File Systems

I'm more interested in doing something similar to MS DFS, which alows one
central location for all shared files yet are distributed on serveal machines
throughout an intranet. I have looked into AFS, and CODA. I believe there
are outher. Has anyone out there done this with linux? I don't mind
pioneering so any advice wouild be great.
