I have it set for dhcp on the external side. It worked great on my home
system but won't connect through Cox

Cause they _admitted_ to cox that they would be using multiple computers.
Silly isn't it?

I haven't used e-smith, but I suspect just having the external interface
request a dhcp lease would do it ... probably some part of the config
setup.
