Handspring, USB, KDE, no worky!

Before I go down the path of building a new kernel for the first time in my
life, I must ask if anyone else has a Visor, USB cradle and is successfully
syncronizing to desktop applications. All of this in Linux, of course.

Does anyone fit that description and can tell me about how yours works and
mine doesn't?
